Medication abortion is a safe and effective way to terminate a pregnancy up to a gestational age of 10 weeks.

The medication, Mifegymiso®, is free to people with an Ontario provincial health card (OHIP card), a Quebec provincial health card (RAMQ card; medication must be picked up at a pharmacy in Quebec for coverage to apply) and to people with coverage through NIHB, the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) and the Canadian Forces Health Services.
